Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken, thigh fillet
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper, black
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup onion, white
  • 3 tsp garlic
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp KIKKOMAN Standard Grade Soy Sauce (100ml)
  • 4 Tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 pouch DEL MONTE Pineapple Tidbits (200g)

Procedure

1 Marinate the chicken in vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Drain.

2 In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. Dip the chicken pieces in the flour mixture then deep-fry. Set aside.

3 Heat butter in a pan then sauté the onion and garlic until soft and aromatic. Add the water, KIKKOMAN Standard Grade Soy Sauce, honey, salt, and reserved pineapple syrup. Bring to a boil and thicken with cornstarch slurry. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Add DEL MONTE Pineapple Tidbits. Toss in chicken then serve.
